Anyway, here's the info. I got this right from Mandy so if you need elaboration, she'll have to clarify as I have been to PA all of zero times! Here's the show details: Harrisburg, PA PA Farm Show Complex 11/16-11/19 (Saturday and Sunday shows benched) So far, Thursday and Friday schedules are out and we show late. Saturday and Sunday schedules aren't out yet. |
|
Me! I'll go! But I guess I could use more information about the location of the PA Farm Show Complex and maybe a hint as to what time you'll be in the building on Friday . . . . |
Have a wonderful time you two, I am sure you will. Bit far for me to go |
Oh, come on Lisa. You can swing by. If you only come for one day it'll be like you never left... or maybe it's the other way around. |
awww, you guys have fun...no fair! guess Im not cool....sigh...go figure |
No, you are not cool. Sorry.
Just kidding. Too bad you used up all your vacation. |
I'm trying very hard to make it to the show on Friday. Val, I'll be happy to pick you up on the way out if you would like?
Saturday is really the most fun day to attend though because they do the filming for the National Thanksgiving televised dog show. There's a lot of activity going on and the sheepdogs usually get a lot of attention because of all of the grooming. |
Woohoo! |
Show schedule!
Thursday 11/16 Approximately 2:45 in ring #12. http://www.infodog.com/jps/083/jpg083.pdf Friday 11/17 Approximately 3:00 in ring #12. http://www.infodog.com/jps/746/jpg746.pdf Saturday 11/18 Approximately 1045 in ring #13. (Benched Show) http://www.infodog.com/jps/478/jpg478.pdf The Farm Show Complex is located at the intersection of Cameron and McClay Sts. in Harrisburg. Take the Cameron St. exit off of I-81 and follow signs. This is the show that got us on the internet last year. For those of you that were around, it's the one where I was making fun of the host! http://www.dogshowusa.com/ go to "Exclusive Video" on the left side and click. We are in the "Picture Perfect" section. There's a shot of Toby getting groomed and then the interview portion towards the middle. They should be shooting for this again this year. We also met Mo Rocca and got a little segment shot for the Tonigh Show but, they didn't use it. D'oh. We were also shot for a Purina commercial but no news on that either. See what VerveUp was talking about with attention for sheepdogs! |
Mandy, should I wear something "special" if the cameras will be there? |

I hope to see you there! |
I would love to go, but my schedule is so up in the air right now. Dale is in MA until Friday, and we have tickets to a comedy show on Sat night. Bought these tickets when the show was first announced, months ago. Maybe I can talk Dale into coming out on Sunday - we'll see.
Mandy, are you not going to show Toby any more? |
Aw. I'll be gone on Sunday already. |
Toby is on the shelf until he grows up a bit. He is acting very immaturely lately and his coat needs to clear so this seems to be the best time for him to take a break and lay on the couch for a while. He WILL be at the show on Friday so everybody can visit with him too. He'll be sad that he doesn't get to go in the ring but he'll get over it! I'll buy him an extra toy to make him feel better. |
Good Luck Mandy!!! Wear your lucky skirt |
The lucky skirt will definitely be worn one day. I'm thinking Thursday but I'm not sure yet. The judge on Friday was at the National so don't want to wear it then. Saturday is tv day and if I wear it then, all the sheepdog people will think I only have one outfit. So Thursday or Sunday. |
need more skirts??? actually I have a skirt that I never wear anymore, but i cant get rid of it....it is a wool anthropology pleated black with small grey pinstripes...its not overly long..below the knee, but looks best with boots...if you want it, its yours, let me know! |

D'oh!!! Hmmmm, a guy remembering what you wore?? Besides, I think I AM you're lucky charm instead of that little 'ole Darcy skirt. So ya better finish Suzi while I'm there.... |
How heavy is the wool? If I get overheated and pass out in the middle of showing because I'm wearing your skirt you're going to be so embarrassed!!!!!!
Skirt or Verve, which is luckier? Maybe it's a combo of both! All I know is that I do not win when my mom is there so she's banned from big shows! Let's all rub our rabbit's feet one big time and get some big luck going!!!! |
Crossing fingers, toes and the girls are crossing there paws, here for you both, best wishes and don't forget the camera. |
All fingers, toes & paws crossed here for you, too!! Good Luck!! |
It starts today!!!!!! |
Good luck to you and Suzy!!! |
Sorry, change in plans as I am now heading up to NYC tomorrow afternoon.
I'll be showing up in Harrisburg on Saturday instead of tomorrow... |
Cool Deb - maybe we'll see you. We will be there either
Sat or Sun. Shellie |

Sat or Sun. Great, are you bringing the boys? I always recommend this show to my friends that have children because it's benched and basically the kids can walk up & down the isles like a big grocery store. Usually all the breeds are gathered together. Saturday is definitely the day to go, as they film for the NBC Thanksgiving Day dog show during the group competitions and the camera people always seem to try & get the kid's expressions. |
Saturday it is then!
And yes, I will have the kids along. One of them will probably be on the leash with a prong collar since we can't use the stroller. Otherwise I may find him curled up whispering to somebody's dog. Shellie |
