My cousin dies at 104 yrs old!

I thought I'd put this in the brag area, because I think it's pretty amazing that she lived so long.
She was my Great Great Uncle's Jacob's daughter, Ruth. I don't know what that makes me to her. 3rd Cousin??
I never met her though, which is strange because she also lived in NJ.
Anyhow her Dad lived to 101. He told my Dad that if someone lived to 100 they would definitely make it to 105. He died the day before he turned he turned 102.
Dad was mad because he said that he believed his Uncle and felt he had lied to him. My Dad was young. lol

This is my Dad's Mother's side of the family. My Grandmother lived to 97.

I hope the longevity gene runs strong with me!

Sorry for you and your family's loss.
I think that she was your 1st cousin, twice removed.

It's nice to have great genes like that. Make good use of them!
Wow! I hope you get those genes too.
Wow! That's amazing. I'm still trying to decide if I'd want to live that long.

I would totally want to live that long, assuming that I am in relatively good health, mentally and physically. I think if there is agreat suffering on either aspect I wouldn't want to...

Wow, E, that's amazing. Is there a study or anything that says women follow their mother's side of the family or vice versa? That'd be interesting.
Steph,
I don't know if there are any studies. I am going to look.

This cousin that died was my Paternal Grandmother's family (Her father's side.) Like I said earlier Grandma lived to 97.
So she seems to have followed her father's side.

My Dad's Paternal Grandma lived to 96 and that was many many years ago.

My Mom's mom just died at 94. She also has longevity on her side of the family. She had an Uncle on Mom's side that was 102 when he passed.

My Cousin created a family website of the geneology of the our family.
My Paternal Grandmother's Father's side of the family.
Dating back to my Great Great Grandparents in the early 1800 in Hungary and Austria.

I think it's pretty cool. We have a HUGE family.
Those are some pretty good genes you've got there Elissa!! Lucky duck!! :D
WOW 8O Hope it runs in the family.
That is amazing. Sorry for your loss. Hope that longevity extends to you.
