Fozzie doesn't bark at us for attention, but he does bark AT Annie when we give Annie attention. He barks right at her, turns his butt around, we start petting his butt, but he still barks at Annie until we yell at him to lay down. It doesn't seem to bother Annie as you might have expected. The barks are right in her ear. It's so loud and screechy! Why does Foz do this and how do we stop him from barking at Annie? |

I don't know how to stop this but just wanted to say I totally sympathize. We go through this as well...every dog we've tried to make compatable with Remy has done this. They want her attention. Or if I am there, it seems they think the dog that is more barky or more jumpy will win my attention. Instead I just completely stop giving all attention and walk away.
Zoe for example, barks at her face because she wants her chance at the food dish. Remy dominates the food, but when Zoe decides she has waited long enough she finds her confidence and tells Remy off. Remy backs off and Zoe starts to eat her portion. Seems to work for them so I let it go. |
Bingley does this to Taylor the cat and to my husband (but only to Ian when he wants to play!). It's much more annoying when he does it to Taylor, as he probably could keep doing it indefinitely if the cat didn't move . . . |
