How old is Cody now?
If you are absolutely at your wits end, the best place for Cody is with an OES rescue group. There are Old English Sheepdog Rescue groups throughout the country that can work with you and Cody to find the best home for him. I'm sure others have names of rescue groups in your area. I will also pm you with more information. I'm so sorry. I know you must feel so sad. |
If you are going to re-home him, or give him to a rescue organsation please be sure to give them his full history. Going back through your posts it seems as if he does have a history.
The problem with passing him on to someone else is that it is passing the problem onto someone else. Seeing as this behavior has been going on for a long time, it is the norm for him. A rescue that takes him on needs to have a foster home that is available and knowledgeable to take on a challenge, that will be long-term. Fostor homes are not usually behavioists and I am not sure that it would be fair to have someone else have to deal with his issues. I do rescue and we do not accept dogs with a bite history. I note that in one of your posts you had been reading Jan Fennels book and no longer needed to yell or hit him. If there has been a lot of yelling and hitting, then he has gotten used to being on the defensive all his life. I wouldn't want someone else to get bitten by him. To change his behavior will take months, may be years. It is not something that can be cured in a short time, or that anyone else should be expected to take on. And if they are not prepared to work with him he may then be banished to the back yard, or to life on a chain....or worse. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't see a nice, pleasant ending to this situation.. I am very very sorry. |
I have never and would never HIt Cody!!!! This dog is my love & this is really tearing me up!!! I am sure I will come up with a good resulation for my baby..He has always nipped & yes a blood drawn bit once. But,I do not blame him.I love him too much..I will figure something out.. |
Maybe he feels cornered. That is why he is biting.
I would put a leash on him when you move him and keep your hands away. Is he only biting when you try to move him? |
Sorry, obviously I misunderstood your post...4th one down.

GET CODY NEUTERED MONDAY IF NOT SOONER!!!
Then lets come back and talk. My first dog was a biter, thought he was neutered, turned out he had a non-descended testicle and it became cancerous at 11 years old, after he was neutered he was the sweetest dog. To paraphrase Shakespeare, Get thee to a neutery! |
