How exciting! |
Sweet!!!! I can understand the height thing...my new mattress finishes off at 33''... really high....i love it!! be careful of the dog jumping....my brothers Newfoundland just blew out his ACL jumping off the bed.....900 dollars later, Todd took the mattress and boxsprings off of the frame....I guess thats true love....I just wouldnt let Panda on the bed |
I love beds that are high off the ground!!!! Our mattresses are on the floor (missing a small piece), so I am jealous! Sweet dreams tonight |
Yay for the new bed! The top of my bed is a solid 3' off the ground. We use bed steps and a HEAVY duty cedar chest to get into it. It took some getting used to, but I LOVE my bed! |
Everybody gets the top bunk! |
I know it sounds silly, but I told Tony, maybe we should get those "bed " stairs. I sorta had to slid onto the bed! Maybe I just need more practice getting into it |
Oh, just tell your hubby he should carry you or throw you into bed from now on! Sounds like fun! |
WOO HOO, BABY!!!! |
Good luck with the new bed! I hope it is as comfortable as it is good looking. |
GET BED STEPS! I love mine Pip uses the cedar chest though. He's not careful enopugh to use the narrow steps |
Congrutulations on your new bed, woo hoo! When I used to go visit my daughter, while she was going through her divorce, I would sleep in their bed which had the 4 high posters and a high mattress. (he was 6'5" and she is 5'6") I am 5' tall and it was halarious me trying to climb on their bed. My grandchildren used to have a great laugh. Anyway, when my husband and I bought our sleigh bed, the mattress salesman advises us to buy a thinner bottom mattress spring and then a higher mattress for the top. We took his advise so I have no problem climbing in my bed. lol. Enjoy your new bedroom set! |
They make bed steps for humans? I've never heard of that
my husband made some for the dogs, and they love it, but I've never thought to get up that way despite it being able to carry my weight. lol |
Here's alink of some from the company I got mine from... Mine aren't nearly this pretty. good thing since when Pip was teething, he decided to nibble on them! good excuse to buy new ones
Thames Library Steps by Bombay |
I really like the stuff at Bombay Company. They have such beautiful things. So now, ya guys....you should all pitch in and buy the stairs for me for Hanuakkah!!!!!!! |
I wish everyone lived close enough to have a Christmas party. We could do a gift exchange!
I love those steps from Bombay. I'm not sure it could hold all my weight |
yeah! congrats on the new bed!! |

Thames Library Steps by Bombay Oh great... open flames on the steps right next to the bedlinens. I can just imagine the disaster and lawsuit when someone tries that. What are they thinking? PS Bombay stuff is apparently available through Amazon.com, so I changed the link to credit oes.org |
Ooohhh furniture shopping through oes.org. Now THAT is dangerous.
Note that I do not endorse putting candles next to your bed linens |
COOL!!!
The whole store seems to be online!!! <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FBombay-Company%2Fb%3Fie%3DUTF8%26node%3D3609681%26me%3DA2Z4DUPX2Z8M59&tag=kaloramanet-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325" target="_new">The Bombay Store on Amazon.com (crediting oes.org!)</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=kaloramanet-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FBombay-Kids-Company%2Fb%3Fie%3DUTF8%26node%3D3609691%26me%3DA2Z4DUPX2Z8M59&tag=kaloramanet-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325" target="_new">The Bombay KIDS Store on Amazon.com (crediting oes.org!)</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=kaloramanet-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FBombay-Outlet-Company%2Fb%3Fie%3DUTF8%26node%3D3666681%26me%3DA2Z4DUPX2Z8M59&tag=kaloramanet-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325" target="_new">The Bombay OUTLET Store on Amazon.com (crediting oes.org!)</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=kaloramanet-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> I only realized that the first link to the Bombay store was really shopping at Amazon.com because I went to post that picture, and the picture's URL had Amazon.com in it! It was pure luck. I wonder what other stores are on Amazon like this???? I had a REALLY HARD time finding this one, even after looking on Amazon for it. |
Wow! Really dangerous... I love Bombay! |
Id probably bang my toes every night on those steps..getting in and out of bed to go potty..... I just do the flying leap...its much more fun!! |
Getting out is easy.......slide into an upright position. Great for those of us with arthritis. The other part may be my undoing. I don't do pickups with high steps......what horror not able to get into bed!!!
congrats on the new bed, sounds wonderful. |
Candles??! I can just see the nylon nightgown going up in flames as you step up! |
Congrats! We have a 17 inch thick mattress. It has 4 inches of Pillow top in each side. I really love my bed even though I need to take a running leap to get on it. |
Ok, y'all...1/2 and I'm off to la la land on my new bed....Can't wait!!! Good night! |
Sleep well! |
I have those steps....I'm real short and my bed is above my belly button....I'd have to leap onto the bed...then the kids bought me the steps. We have a 4 poster bed and then got a new mattress last year its over 22 inches....its terrible to find sheets that dont slip off...what I have to do it buy king size sheets and tuck some of the fitted sheet in. |
We had our first night. Neither of us slept much! Not that it was uncomfortable or anything bad...just that it was "different". When I woke up, this morning, I realized...WOW MY BACK IS FINE!!!! MY MUSCLES ARE ALL FINE!!! I think this just may work! |
Sleeps overrated.
Those look like very flimsy steps, pretty though. |
