Haven't seen the film but I've read the book twice over the past 2 years. Loved the book. I'm afraid the movie won't live up to it though, so I haven't seen it yet. Meryl Streep just doesn't seem mean enough in the previews I saw. I also didn't hear her say "Ahn-dreah!!" in a thick british accent (in fact, she doesn't seem to have an accent in the movie). I'm just expecting it to be a let-down so I'll stick with the book and my imagination.  |
| I didn't read the book, but I LOVED the movie. I thought Meryl Streep was pretty mean in the movie. She actually said it was really hard to make the movie because everyone went out and had fun or hung out on the set and she couldn't because it was too hard for her to go back and forth from her character to her real personality.
Great clothes, great actors. I recommend it. |
Oh, now it sounds really good! Maybe I can convince hubby to watch it with me.... maybe not.  |

| The movie is waaaay better than the book and I never say that. I saw the movie first, then read the book. The book was the same thing over and over again. A few details were changed for the movie but nothing important. Go see the movie. |

I saw it a few weeks ago. It's definitely not a movie I think my husband would "enjoy." I liked it (but didn't love it). I think it's a chick flick that's inspiring, but since it didn't have any boobs or anything really manly in it... I'm glad Mr. J didn't have to sit through it.  I think I rated it on yahoo as "good but could have been better." All my girl friends LOVED it though! |

 I really enjoyed this movie.I hadn't watched a DVD for months and then splurged over Xmas on 8! At the time, I had aquired a new project director who has difficulty communicating clearly and then takes it out on the staff! Sigh!  It's getting better as I suggested that she needed to be clear about her expectations.  |
| We watched this last night and loved it! Meryl Streep was awesome! She definitely made the movie. My husband even liked the movie and that's saying something as he's a tough critic. |

I agree! Meryl Streep is one of my favorite actresses, but the book is a million times better than the movie! That is usually the case anyway.  I did like the movie, but I was disappointed with how different it was from the book.
The Nanny Diaries is the same way. And the Shining. The Shining is a GREAT book! Very scary! |

When you do see the dvd let's know if it is close to the book, have not read the book, but the movie was FAB. |
