Thinning out the coat

I am new to the grooming aspect of an OES, I want to keep her coat for the winter. But it is getting hard to keep the mats down. If I had it my way I brush her every night (I actually enjoy it) and I sure try. But does she ever fight me on it! So I thought if I could thin out the mass. Is there a tool for this??

Yup! The Mars stripper is a life saver when it comes to that. You use it to remove the undercoat, which thins the coat but still keeps it nice and long and shaggy.

Mars Coat King
WOW~ thanks!! what size would you recommend? Might have to buy that online, I haven't seen anything like that in my neck of the woods

I am on a mission!
I have the 10 blade one (the description actually says for OES so I believed it!) and it has worked out well. I've only seen them for this price online. The few that I've seen at specialty pet stores were the same thing but about $20 more.
Does anyone in Canada know of a Canadian website for these brushes? Unfortunately the border taxes will up the price.

Pet Supply House (located in Guelph, Ontario) has incredible prices. I'm not sure what their shipping charges are, but I'm sure they're reasonable.

Our breeder shops there all the time.
I have shopped on line at the Pet Supply House, the prices were very reasonable, and delivery was very quick. I did it online and I specified how I wanted it shipped (Parcel Post). I ordered the Mars Dematter and a #1 All Systems comb.. If I remember correctly, to Nova Scotia, the shipping was less than $10.00.
The Pet Supply House rocks!!!
Yeah I know! Pet Supply House Rocks!

Unfortunately, I have a tendency to stop by their shop on my way home from work... "just to look" a little too often.
Hey - if you stop in the near future - please try one of the Chris Christensen pin brushes. The t-brush is the one I'm curious about. I tried a friends regular 35 mm - was curious if the t-brush felt better in your hand. It's supposed to be more ergonomic , better on the wrist. Thanks in advance. :)
if none of you have ever been to petedge, I'd check it out. Its great when you are buying alot of items. Toys are very cheap. here is the medium mars brush for $29.99

got sheep: I sent you a PM about the brush. I checked it out this weekend. It was more ergonomic, but handle was plain wood (not soft/grippy) and the handle was quite thin - would only be comfortable for female/smaller hands. Just my opinion. Good luck with your brush choosing.
