Another Home improvement job DONE!!!
It's been just way too hot to put on the roofing, until now. Last weekend Dad and Billy put on the base sheet over the plywood and today they are doing the roof. In fact they are almost done. I uploaded some pictures and will post as soon as they are approved. |

Thanks Helen  Yes, that is Billy. I have better pictures of them working on the roof.
In comparision, I just love showing this picture from when we first moved in. The patio had a corragated Fiberglass roof that was 20+ years old and leaked. Also you can all see how crappy the yard looked. 
Do you see the skeleton of a tree in the background and the tumbleweed in the corner? 
I still can't believe we bought this place....it was not kept up well at all. |

Yeah, I wouldn't minf borrowing your dad! That's awesome. I can't help but think they were thinking, "why is my crazy daughter/wife taking pics while we're out here working."

Jo, I took pictures to show the progress on the house. I have been taking pics since we moved in. Also because at 71 yrs old Dad has vowed never to get on a roof again. So this was most likely his last roofing job. He had been a Roofer since he started working for his Dad at 14 yrs old. (he quit for a while to go to College for engineering) Then came back to run the family business. He retired about 5 yrs ago. Angel, the next project is the BBQ and Bar he is building in pool area. He actually got all the utilities in there last week and ready for construction to start. The guy that did our blockwall is building it. Billy will have a TV, Small Fridge, Grill with sideburners and bar seating. A roof for shade and misters to keep us cool. |
| Who else thinks that Elissa's house looks like a vacation resort? A real oasis look to it, with the pool and all!

| That looks great! I would stay home too if I had all that. And no mosquitos either to deal with in the summer.
It looks like they did well on the roof - good thing you took pictures. I do the same thing. Todd and brothers joke about it, but they do enjoy looking at the pictures later. |
| Come mid winter I think we need a road trip to Elissa's! Last one in the pool........... OK, so it's a little chilly there in mid winter....you know 60-70 degree days, but I won't care. I do cold well, especially if there's a swimming pool involved. |

I really lucked out with Billy, he can fix or build anything. The one thing he didn't know anything about was roofing and thankfully Dad does. |
