It was an alright movie, but it is NOT a comedy. It is actually almost a drama, but with a very simple story. There are a few funny RW jokes, you know his style, but if you are looking for a fun nite, pick another show. It is the same kind of serious kind of movie as Patch Adams, but not as funny. Disappointed....and not really recommending it..... as a comedy... |

Would you recommend it as a drama?
I personally have liked Robin Williams in his more dramatic roles like "World According to Garp", "Insomnia" & "Good Will Hunting". I was able to meet Robin Williams down in Atlantic City before one of his live comedy shows as he was walking around tjhe lobby. He was very sweet & gracious and I felt like a giant at 5'8" as I towered over him in my high heels. |
I love Robin Williams, and politics, so I can't wait to see that movie....
I had thought it would be really funny too though, and no matter if a movie is good, I hate it when a movie that's supposed to be funny isn't. |

The storyline is quite obvious, no twists and turns, so not a "good" drama, either, if you like a lot of suspense etc. Very predictable all the way through. It is a movie , but certainly not a great one. It does make fun of politics etc, and there are a few good RW jokes, but not a lot and nothing extra-ordinary. Personally, I wouldn't see it again or rent it and will tell my kids not to bother going. There are better ones out there. |
Yahoo users gave it a C, so I won't be renting it when it comes out.
http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809424196/info I like Robin Williams in movies. Always seems "real" ...and you can feel his emotions through his acting. However, I HATE when he's in interviews. No one can get a word in!!! Not only that, he not able to let things be. He'll carry a joke one more line ...or two or three more lines... longer than needed. The host will try to continue, but Robin is just a spaz. jmo. The Departed (with that huge handsome cast) got AWESOME reviews. I look forward to getting that! |
