But I have an announcement to make. Our household has grown by one more. No not another sheepie (where would I put another sheepie in my little house anyways??? Oh yeah, that's right next to the one I already have ) and not a 2 legged baby (yet anyhow. We're still working on that!) Ladies and Gentlemn, I proudly announce the newest member of our household... Cevia! Yep. My sister has fulfilled her dream, taken the plunge and bought her first horse. Cevia is a Fresian Sporthorse... half freisian, half quarter horse, all lovely. My sister is practically bubbling over with delight, and I'm not far behind her. (I get to go out and play with her, my sister gets all the hard work Mwhahahahaha) Here are a few more pics of her: The happy new owner... could that grin BE any wider? A close up of the pair of them A gorgeous shot of Cevia doing her "thang" |

She's beautiful!! Congrats |

I don't remember what your policy is with Pippen, but I definitely wouldn't let Cevia climb on the sofa or sleep on your bed Very beautiful!! |
Oh Karen - she's gorgeous!!
Congrats!! |
Wow she's gorgeous!!!! |
WOW!!!!!!!!! She's beautiful!! Congrats
The 1. pic.was realy beautiful |
Wow can that girl move....the first photo is just stunning....I know nothing of horses, but boy she looks like a beaut!
ps..I agree with Amanda....keep her off the bed, you'll have no room to sleep |
she is stunning....My babies are Teddy and Minnie Mouse, an Irish draught x irish cob grey mare...I have a picture. It is so exciting getting a new horse and developing a relationship. best wishes for the future |
What a beautiful horse and your sister could not look any prouder. Wow your pictures are fantastic. Thank you for sharing and congratulations! |
What a gorgeous horse, how old is she, what a stunner |
Wow! She's a beaut! I grew up with a horse that was part quarter horse. So she reminds me of her. That and my dad still has a horse that reminds me of him in that very last picture. Makes me want to go home and go for a ride. Even better go for a ride on the coast.
Don't envy the taking care of part. I have memmories of having to do that my entire growing up life. GROAN! |
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
She is absolutely gorgeous! I'm jealous.... LOL
She moves like a Fresian but doesn't look like one... I'd love to have a Gypsy Vanner.... |
wow! I thought you were going to tell us you were pregnant! |
BOOHOOOOO.... I really thought this was the big 2-legged announcement!!!!!!!
Then I scrolled down and was shocked to see it was Cevia. Never in my wildest dreams did I think you guys would be bringing home this!! Your sister lives with you guys right? Oh my gosh, this will be so exciting. We have to get so many pictures. My husband is going to be so jealous when he finds out. This is his dream. It's not mine because I know it would be my responsibility to do all the cleaning. lol |
I was expecting the human kind, but a horse - that's great too! She's very pretty and moves beautifully.
I had horses growing up, but none since college. I "treated" myself to Pete - my horse - 2 Christmas's ago. He is a rescue boy, now 6 yrs old, half arab, half quarter horse. I still don't mind the work, it still is fun to go out to the barn and brush and feed him even if I don't have time to ride that day. Of course, then LeAnne needed one too, so we went back at Easter time and got Sonny. Then granddaughter Breanna needed a pony, so we adopted Teddy....... Just watch out - it's hard to stop at just one ! |
When I scrolled down and only had the head I said, "Whoa, that looks somewhat like a Fresian!" Imagine my surprise. Yes, the sounth end is stong like the quarter horse. Wow! Very nice. Congratulations. |
Thanks everybody! Yes, Christina really couldn't be any happier with her, she is just over the moon right now! The stable she is at is about 25 minutes north of us, just a gorgeous area, very nice people, and Cevia is getting excellent care. So Christina picked well all the way around. She really does look fresiany in movement, all around, I think she's scrumptious! Very sweet natured, very calm (which I like a lot!) you can tell just by looking at her face how sweet she is. I get to play groundwork with her Which is my favorite part of horsemanship. Riding is fun, but I like the relationship building, and Christina is a MUCH better rider then me. (Plus hopefully soon, riding will be cut off for some time for me...)
Yes Jo- Christina does live with us... so all I've been hearing about recently is horse this horse that... which makes up for all the baby stuff I'm bombarding her with I guess. No good news on that front yet, I'm sorry to report. Everyone's prayers and positive, fertile thoughts my way wouldn't go amiss! I'll be sure to share more photos as we take them. There are some ADORABLE barn kittens out there too, so I'll try to get some shots of them too! |
Wow--that's a pretty horse! It's the Black Stallion! |
Quote: It's the Black Stallion
only girlie Cevia is definitely girlie!!! |
What a pretty horse. I love her! |
Will she be going English or Western?
Remember, when she is good, that's the Quarter Horse part. When she is bad, well, that's the Fresian coming out. |

Paula, as far as my sister is concerned that would be just the opposite, but that's ok, we won't tell her! She will be riding (and eventually competing in) beginner's dressage. She is very excited to get started on this, as Christina is... shall we say... competitive. She likes having goals to judge her progress by. And she was a ballerina growing up, so she likes the nuances and control of the dressage discipline. I think once someone told her it was the "ballet of equestrian disciplines" she was sold. As for myself, I'm plenty happy going out and doing some natural horsemanship/ground work with her. I'm a big fan of the Pat Parelli Horse-Man-Ship program. I'm very excited to be able to practice it again, since I had to leave off when my first instructor moved out of state Like I said, I get to do the fun stuff, my sister has to do all of the hard work!!! |
I did the pat parelli course for one year and went for a weekend for instruction...it was really brilliant and it taught me so much about horse comunication. We play the 7 games regularly and have really established a good relationship. I am sure you will have so much fun. I have just filmed my friend for her stage one. |
Hi,
I've viewed the photos several times but hadn't had a chance to post until now. She just so beautiful !!!! I especially love the last pic. LOL I thought the same thing....a baby, when I read the title of the post. Marianne and the boys |
Congratulations. She's just beautiful. |
I thought baby too...LOL
That is a beautiful horse, she will look great in the ring. |
Beautiful horse ! Good luck to you and your sister.
Pat Parelli is excellent, but Clinton Anderson is cuter . |
Ah but Clinton's lovely assistant doesn't have that super cool bangs-over-the-visor look like Linda Parelli! She does that on tour too... drives my sister nuts... I just laugh! |
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! Horses are such beautiful creations! I look at them and can just feel more free! I'm so glad for you and your sister! |
LeAnne and I went to Madison last year to see the Parelli seminar - I know what you mean about the bangs and the visor! We laughed too - after seeing it on TV, then in person. She is a beautiful lady, so I guess she can get away with it! |
