When we picked him up from the breeder in the end of March he vomitted a few times in the car ride on the way home. Then a couple days later we had him in the car and he vomitted again. Since then,no vomitting, but if we're going to be in the car for more than 15 minutes he gets some Dramamine for motion sickness as the vet recommended. Which I thought was working well. Even with the dramamine, he has developed a strong adversion to the car. Plus yesterday he vomitted all over the car again so I am wondering if maybe it's not motion sickness. We were giving him a special treat when he gets into the car so he would enjoy that, but it's not working anymore. A lot of the trips we take him on are fun destinations so it's not like we are just going to the vet. As soon as he sees us going near the car, he runs away and lays down and stares at us. I don't want to keep torturing him in the car if this is motion sickness but if you guys think this is more of an anxiety thing please let me know. We like to cart our dog around as much as possible so I'm bummed that we might have to start leaving him behind if he doesn't outgrow this. |

i have no advice, sorry. i just wanted to say your avatar is SOOO CUTE!! i think if i ever met frank i would have to kidnap him, he looks just like a little stuffed animal!! |
It sounds more like anxiety than motion sickness. You should try giving him some Rescue Remedy before traveling. That seems to work wonders! |
Thanks, I think I'm going to have to try the Rescue Remedy and see if that makes a difference.
Lil Walty thanks for the avatar complement. I think all sheepdogs look like stuffed animals and people must love how cute & very fluffy Walter is. |
Frank looks like he's getting big! And that avatar pic really is so adorable... |
