Me too. Enough of this SF tourist stuff Val! Time for you to hit the road.....we need some excitement in our pathetic little lives, I guess... |
Hey, she did say she had 5 days of non-doggie stuff to do .....like the wedding |
Yep slow day, gives me an excuse to get off this computer and start grooming |
Gonna be even slower tomorrow night....

LOL! Well here is my excitement for the day: I was feeling rather like a fuddy duddy so I went to get a mani/pedi. And then I thought -- heck! I'm going to get me some fake nails! I've always envied elegant long nails. Mine are small, short and generally a bit ragged. At best, they look like colorful chicklets. Not tonight! I am sporting some very lovely acrylics. Yes, I know there is maintenance involved and it will be harder than just keeping my natural nails trim -- but they look good! Next, I went to Neimans to buy a new lipstick to go with my nails and of course I let the makeup artist "play" a bit -- so I am also enjoying a lovely bronzey shimmery "enhanced natural" professional makeup job. It is very nice. Not too much. I always pick a counter that promotes a more natural look. I love free makeovers. I always pay close attention and ask alot of questions -- even though I almost never wear makeup. But I did buy the lipgloss and the bronze powder. So I am feeling very good about tonight (rehearsal dinner) and the makeup guy said I could come back tomorrow for something a bit fancier for the wedding (which is formal). Following up on the other thread, Darcy talked me out of wearing black. I will wear a sparkly, lacy, gray/lavender number. It is either "retro/vintage" or matronly - I am not yet sure. |
We need to get you over to the doggie camp all dressed up and give Maggie and Chummie a camera. Fair is fair!
By the way, you should definitely win the "Who drove the farthest to get here?" prize! |
Thanks for the update. I LOVE pedicures. I go low budget though - at the local cosmetology school. It is my favorite thing I do for myself (OK, besides my dog stuff )
Your dress sounds pretty, not matronly. Vintage /retro is great in my book. I wore it even back in the 70's in high school. We do need a picture of you all fancy too . Have fun at the wedding. |
What a great night! I had so many compliments! The headmaster from my highschool (20 yrs ago) was there and was all 'Valerie you look amazing!' Gotta love the fake nails and free makeover! I still think tomorrow's outfit is a bit dull . . . A wrap dress is always sexy. A lacy dealie -- I don't know how it will come off. |
Oooolala, Val!!
Sounds like you were looking GOOD!! Not surprising, though, as you're such a lovely lady!! Isn't it wonderful to feel like a million bucks?? Don't ya just love those days?? |

Insert Ed joke here... Seriously, I'm glad you're having such a great time! |
Ack! I mean -- I don't know how it will look. |
Sure...it's a wedding, we know how crazy people can get! |
Yeah Val!!! I dont know if its too late already, but I would bring the dress to the store where you got your make over......they can enhance and bring out your eyes or lips to "blend" with your dress......you know how matchy matchy i am.....oh, or some shimmery eye shadow!!!! |
