Mr. J is off. Let the countdown begin.
I thought this tour would be easier because I would have lil J to keep me occupied, but I think it'll be harder. I find myself praying a lot more already. He'll be doing a job that is more dangerous and will be working directly with Iraqis daily. I don't trust them at all, so my mind keep running in circles. My heart melted when I saw several soldiers saying goodbye to their little boys. Then again as I watched my husband tuck his boy in his carseat one last time. Walking away had to be so hard on him. I could barely look at his face because I knew he was in pain. We know a female captain who had to leave her son (lil J's age), so she could go to Iraq for a year too. We don't understand ...and will never.. why she is in the miltary during a time of war since she is higher ranking and has had opportunities to get out. I imagine if I had to say goodbye to my lil boy for a year, I'd only have thoughts of suicide, and they would only build as I fought a war. A man went crazy the other day as they were finishing up their last days of training before they departed. So crazy that he was on the ground waving his hands and feet like you do when you're making snow angels. He thought people "on his team" were out to attack him, and just blew up. This is a guy who comes from a well off family, very good looking guy, educated, and would make most men scared (big muscular). Anyway, I'll have to call the other wives in a few days to check on them, so hopefully we will find things to do together. We filled a jar up with 365 jellybeans. I took the first few out, and I just look forward to it being AT LEAST half full. More father and son pics.

| Thanks again everyone for being there and the prayers. I NEVER thought I'd turn to an internet board ...or internet people... but this board is truly different than any board I've been to before. I feel there are people who actually care about the other members on this board, and there isn't a constant need to attack (w/o respect or just to be bitter) one another.

That actually is a good idea. But I can't recover the lost jellybeans. lol ...they're in my tummy. As soon as lil J can eat them, he'll be the one getting them out every day. He's 9 months, and still doesn't have a tooth!!! Arghh.. |

| HAHAHAHAH. I want to see the pic of Lil J and his first jellybean (which are my FAVORITE candy by the way)!!!! I think that is the sweetest tradition (no pun intended) and hope you have shared that idea with other wives who may have older children. What a great way to mark the time until Dad (or Mom) comes back. |

I have them set up so it's Red, White, and Blue. I'm burning to get down to the White (coconut) and blue (Blueberry). Those are so much better than the reds (cinnamon).  |

You don't like black jelly beans or cinnamon? Well, they do have strawberry and other red fruits, you didn't have to get cinnamon unless it was in a package deal.

| Well, I decided on two classes. THEN had to go to a lot of pre-deployment briefings with my husband, so realized HE was right.... so now I'm taking one. I have too many other commitments to handle more. ...which is hard for me to believe!!! |

| I do like the popcorn flavored jelly beans. I also like kettle corn. Caramel corn is too sweet for me. I don't eat any of them very often. When my Mom was living she loved gourmet jelly beans, so when I see them they bring back great memories.
