This is not my favorite show. Got old after the first season, but this is my husband's SECRET enjoyment, so I think I'll tune in.. Actually when he was in Iraq last time, all the soldiers would get together and watch this every week because it was the only show they got. |
|
That's funny...my husband is a closet watcher of The Bachelor himself. I'm sure it's just to drool over all the beautiful women makes idiots out of themselves. |
I liked several of the seasons...and my friends and I would use it as an excuse to get together at least once a week. But then the show just got old. But I still will probably watch it...
Such a funny vision to think of a bunch of tough soldiers gathering around to watch The Bachelor! (even IF it was all they could get) |
Isn't this guy suppose to the be a real prince of some country? |
Prince of Italy??
I don't know, but it looks like it will be a good season. I'm stoked for me, sad for my husband not being able to watch and drool over the ladies. Every season seems to have the token... psycho (last season didn't they have that doctor who was obsessed with having kids because her clock was ticking) and black girl who never gets picked, which makes me think they should have a black bachelor? ...but it almost feels like that's not what people want to see, but I guess that could be a food for thought topic that's just my pov. Anyway, disappoints me that the girl from houston tx (wore tiara) seems to be a fruitcake since that's where mr. j is from! I like the girl he gave the 1st rose to. They seemed to immediately connect the second she got out of the car. Then there was another one who reminded me of Sara from that one season (where she hooks up with the guy who has a brother who is a movie/tv star). |
Anyone still watching? I want to watch Heros because it looks so good, but I've got to watch this for Mr. J.
If anyone did... I was thinking from the first show that the girl who went on the first date to the opera wasn't physically compatible with him. Her build is too athletic and big. Not FAT, just someone who should date a football player or someone built. So I was glad the Bachelor felt the same way. Jeannette (got the rose tonight) - no solid opinion yet, but I don't think she's his best match. She's real though. Sadie (the virgin) is cute. I like her the most so far. Lisa (the one who got diamond earrings and two roses) is becoming more and more annoying. She's so cocky!!! I can't believe he ASKED TO KISS HER!!! I got goosebumps though (but I hate that I did)! Erica didn't get a rose! Thank goodness! What a psycho. I don't think Agnese (italian) will win. Not only is there a language barrier, but I think in her own environment, she's high maintenance and a total ...... mean person. It's probably not easy to see because she's only come off super sweet, but I think it's because she can't express herself and join in with the girls to talk bad about them. This is just from observing her facial expressions in the first two shows when girls would say things she didn't like. To clarify, I don't think Lorenzo is hot. I agree that he's got that dorky cute quality. I guess I like him because I feel if he wasn't rich and a prince, he would be the kind of guy I dated when I was single. I guess I like dorky cute guys. |
I'll talk to myself...
I've always been a Sadie fan, but Jennifer got on my good side too. Their one-on-one date made her seem sincere and "real." I still don't like the Italian. I think that's the only reason she's there. Jami, the girl who won the one-on-one the last episode (and sang Opera to him) said she thought the Italian would win. I don't see how, so it will be interesting to see what comes next. It's interesting to hear what she says about the show, editing, and her perception of the girls. Would you like to see Joah? Sure... Post it. alright, if you insist. here it is: (cause I know there's someone out there still watching ) Quote: GALVESTON — She may have missed her chance to be a princess, but Jami Matzke doesn’t feel like she lost much. Matzke, 27, got dumped on national television Monday night on the latest episode of ABC’s “The Bachelor.” Matzke, an event planner in Galveston, was one of nine finalists vying for the affection of Lorenzo Borghese, a cosmetics heir with a royal bloodline. On the episode, Matzke competed with eight other bachelorettes in an opera-singing contest. As the winner, she went on a one-on-one date with Borghese to an Italian opera. But, despite an opera hall to themselves and champagne-filled prelude, Borghese told Matzke he didn’t feel anything for her and sent her away just after the date. “That’s such a kick in the face,” she said. “My ego was totally bruised.” But she wasn’t heartbroken. “There was zero attraction, at least on my part,” she said. “I could tell even the first night I got out of the limo.” Matzke also said Borghese seemed quiet and shy — not the type of man she’s typically compatible with. Matzke admits she’s loud, talkative and down-to-earth. If that wasn’t what Borghese wanted, that’s fine, she said. But she said she felt like the person who viewers saw during the three episodes accurately portrayed who she is. Other women weren’t so lucky, she said. Such as Desiree, a 22-year-old Realtor from Utah who is portrayed on the show as a wild party girl. “Truth be told, she is a sweetheart,” Matzke said. And Lisa, the 25-year-old marketing manager from Portland, isn’t as sweet and innocent as she seems, Matzke said. “She’s a whiz,” Matzke said. “She knew all this stuff about the show. She told me whoever went on the second one-on-one date would go home. “She is psycho. She told us she had applied for all of these other reality shows.” Matzke, however, hadn’t seen an episode of the show before watching herself on television. But she said her encounter with reality television was probably enough. “The experience I had was nothing but positive, but the producing is what got to me,” she said. “It is very scripted, and I think when you’re watching TV, anyone with half a brain can figure that out.” Scripted moments she had to endure aired on the second episode, when she and another contestant sneaked into Borghese’s room during a cocktail party to snoop around. That came only at the prodding of a producer, who told them the party was a little too boring. Now, she can sit back and watch the six remaining contestants, though she already has an idea who might capture Borghese’s heart. She’s betting on Agnese, a 24-year-old student and one of the Italian women added to the show during the first episode. That doesn’t mean she thinks the show will necessarily end in marriage for the 34-year-old Borghese. “It struck me when I left that all he is left with is girls younger than 25,” she said. “I think I was the last woman there.” As for the hunt for her own prince charming, she isn’t giving up yet. And the recognition she’s getting from the show, along with three leftover formal gowns, might help along the way. “I might just go down to Postoffice (Street) in my ball gown,” she said. “Hey, I was on ‘The Bachelor.’ I might as well milk it for all it’s worth.” |

alright, if you insist. here it is: (cause I know there's someone out there still watching ) Yes L, we are reading you loud and clear. batonrougesheepies |
Bahhh... the bachelor is kinda boring. He's the quiet shy type, so it makes the show a little slow. They had a great idea (picking a prince), but he doesn't have a great personality!!!!!
I don't think there's really a match with any of the girls. Obviously Lisa is crazy. I thought his date with the Italian chick went great. I mean... with the way they kissed and all, it looked like they had sparks, for once. But... she was booted. Thanks for the update Joah! No problem, babe! |
It feels like you haven't been on forever Bachelor.
I missed you and can't wait to see who gets the boot tonight. *hearts* |
I love when they start falling for each other because you start feeling all romantic and gooey inside.
Psycho Lisa got the boot, so it's down to two. I love Sadie. She's a sweetheart, BUT I like Jen more with Lorenzo. I'm glad we're in agreeance, Joah. This show makes me miss my husband. Cuddling is so underrated. |
I'm sorry I don't watch the Bachelor.... but reading your posts is kinda fun |
I don't watch it either, but your "cliff notes" are fun to read! |
L, reading these posts makes me kinda worried for you!
Just kidding... For some reason, there is just something about Sadie that I'm not liking, but I was glad Lisa was kicked off...But I'm not a huge fan of Jen. I like Lorenzo, though. He seems like such a nice, normal guy...and getting that massage! I didn't mind seeing him without his shirt! |
There's something about Sadie that rubs me the wrong way too. I know she is a sweet girl, but I feel like the act is strong at times. |
Tonight's the season finale.
I have no idea who he'll choose! It'll be interesting to see. This season was boring. I'm still excited b/c it's better than having nothing to watch. Where is my dang second season of Lost!!! Been waiting forever for it! |
This one wasn't as "magical" other ones have been.
I still got a smile on my face when they played the flashbacks at the end of them together. They make a good couple. I just don't like Lorenzo. His personality is too much like my old college roommate, who I would never date. Otherwise, it was all blaghh... Lt Andy Baldwin (military + doctor), the next Bachelor, IS HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!! Lt means Captain (O-3) in the Navy right? I will be all over that season. Mr. J will be home from Iraq *crosses fingers* so he can wipe my drool. It's okay to say that right? I mean, he gets to drool over 20+ women that the Bachelor chooses from. Goodbye thread. You've been great company and entertainment. No one will miss you more than me. I'll see you spring 2007 for the next season. |
BUT WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO DID HE PICK!! I have never watched the show but got caught up in watching the first o\hour. THEN I found out it was a TWO HOUR Finale and fell asleep before themoment of truth. WHO DID HE PICK????? |
oh, got hung up on the NEW bachelor that i forgot to say.
jen. i got the feeling sadie would be too boring for him. like fortune cookies, you have to add two words to the end of that sentence |
OH GOOD!! That is who I was hoping he would pick. WIsh I had been able to stay awake for it!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
So I heard on the news the other day that the Bachelor dumped the winner, and is dating the runner up (the good-girl) now!
Well... I guess if she's available, I don't blame him. It's not like they have a lot of time to REALLY get to know each other, so wanting to "continue" dating someone seems reasonable. |
I'm surprised she's still willing to go out with him. |
