Cher I have had the same problem and not only does it leave the beard smelly but it is not to fun sitting on a wet seat either Just when I thought I had the lift both seats problem with my sons solved and improvement with flushing the toilet along comes Drake and now I have to teach my 2 legged uprights that they have to close the lid too! And I thought I was done potty training the boys a long time ago I think male uprights are harder to train then our puppies Good luck |

cher Could always put the two of them together in the backseat of the car. One other thing, about seats... Even years beofre we got our dog, we kept both the seat and the lid down for both cosmetic and egalitarian reasons. Cosmetic is obvious, in that we both feel that it's more attractive. Egalitarian: Hey, if *I* have to put the seat down for you, either you should have to put the seat up for me, or we should both agree to always keep the lid closed. I have to admit that I'm better at remembering to close the lid after I've had the seat up than after I've had the seat down. Then again, she's always happy either way. As an aside, our dog Jake never visited the toilet if we left the seat up... Just had no interest in it, or waste paper baskets. Now trash containers that had food waste in them... that was another story! http://www.oes.org/html/more_jake.html |
Ron it sounds as if Joan has you trained right |
Intradan wrote:  Ron it sounds as if Joan has you trained right Actually, it goes back to around 1986 -- during a party, somehow the issue came up, I think maybe as part of a "women do more around the house" kind of discussion. A neighbor/friend of ours who likes to discuss arcane things really started in on this:
"This is not a women's issue," he said. "I'm tired of hearing that this is a women's issue," he cried. "It's just as much work for me to put that seat down as it is for you to put the seat up!" "If you want to be fair about it, you should both agree to keep both the seat and the lid down all the time!" We think he was right. Yay Jimmy! PS Jimmy is not married... |
One of my sheepies, Dudley, used to lift the lid himself! We used to have to "train" ourselves to shut the door!
Sydney's a toilet drinker too! She hasn't started playing in the water yet - but I'm sure that won't be too far off either! Good Luck training your son (or Bella) - but in the mean time - be sure not to use any of those "clean flush" products in the toilet (they can be poisonous)! |
I agree keeping the lid down is best. I never even thought about it till i brought Erised home. My boyfriend was very easy to train though. All i had to do was ask nicely.
My son on the other hand.....It wouldn't be so bad but he has a flushing problem also and he forgot this morning. I had to mop the floor and bathe Bella cher |

Ohhh nooooooooooo |
I have to clarify myself and say that my husband is really good about closing the lid it is just my sons that are really bad. First I thought I would be sending them to kindergarden in pull ups then it took forever to get them to wipe and wash their hands and then lifting the seat and taking proper aim was next and then flushing and now putting the lid down Whew! I was raised in a house full of girls and never realized how difficult the bathroom issues could be with boys. I think my brother had to learn fast with four sisters so it was never an issue. I have to say it is a work in progress and hopefully I will have them trained for their wives as my husband was for me
Besides the bathroom I am in the process of teaching my two sons the importance of clean underwear and socks |
