Lennon broke his shoulder. =(

Hi All!

Lennon broke his shoulder in a nasy accident involving a park bench almost 2 months ago. He was running like crazy on the park when he got distracted and slammed into the bench so hard that his shoulder bone did not get dislocated but fractured. 8O

We rushed to the hospital to have him checked and the vet lady gave us the news, she was worried that he may need to go under the knife to have his bones fixed by a metal plate and that his walking abilities were going to be hindered after the surgery... My wife was devastated and cried for the whole time that he was under observation at the hospital, and to be true, I was doubtful that he was going to be 100% OK, even after the surgery.

So, the vet took some radiographs and told us that he was going to be OK, the position of the fracture was going to allow him to be OK if we kept him confined and without movement for 2 or 3 weeks :D And that was hard, Lennon wanted to be running and jumping, so it was very difficult for him to be put on a cage at home for about 3 weeks to allow his shoulder to heal, he kept on barking all day because he was bored and got a very difficult case of cabin fever.

Finally, the 3 weeks were over and he was allowed to run free for the first time again. We'be been letting him walk and the run free again to allow his muscles to heal and gain strength again, because the vet told us that he was going to have a long recovery process. He's a very brave and strong dog, and that has helped him to recover from the accident, he runs faster every week and last week he managed to outrun Sofi for the first time again... We're so happy!!! He still has a minor limp on his leg that seems to be dissapearing with the excercise he gets, and hopefully soon all this incident will be left in our memories. Phew!!!

I'm sooo glad Lennon's ok and has everyone caring for him so well.

Give him (and Sofi) a very gentle belly-rub from me.
Thanks Helen!

We already gave Lennon and Sofy a good tummy rub on your behalf and they send wet, sloppy kisses back to you and your cute puppy.
aww poor lennon! im so glad hes doing ok and the recovery process is over... i cant imagine looking at a sad sheepdog who wants to play for 3 weeks and not giving in!
Glad to hear Lennon is on the mends, must have been pretty scary! Keep us posted on how it is going 8)

Drake sends a big wiggle butt get well
I was so sorry to hear about Lennon - ouch! Oh the poor boy! I hope he will recover as good as new and must be tough to keep him inactive for such a long period, knowing how hyper these boys can be. Give him a big hug for me!

I was hoping to say something comforting yet witty... but I'm fresh out and everyone else has said it better.

Poor Lennon! Poor Saulmr!

Give him an extra hug for me, but a gentle melt-in-your-arms hug.
Thanks all for the good wishes, Lennon got a lot of hugs this week, but he asked me if he could have the treats that came with the hugs... :D

He ran his first 2 miles last week with me puffing along in the bike  phew...!!! If things keep like this, he'll be back to his hyper old self in no time
hope all is well for lennon and your family.
