It is a lot like "The Longest Yard", maybe too much, but I liked this story better. We are not a sports family, so the football in it just goes right over my head. But it kind of draws you in, and I spent most of the time tensed up with anticipation, or some kind of feeling like that. There were 2 times that I got "emotional", but so did Don 'The Rock" is not a bad actor...not great, but not bad....He is very easy on the eyes, though, so I thoroughly enjoyed watching him It is based on a true story, and maybe folks in LA are familiar with the youth detention camp that it is about. |

Jason's been wanting to see this one. Not sure when we'll find the time, but glad to hear you gave it a good review. |
Ya this was a pretty good movie, although the violence in the opening scene seemned alittle much compared to the rest of the movie. I did like it, but be ready for inspirational speeches galore!!

I enjoyed it and think The Rock is a surprisingly good actor
I'd give it a B- probably. Wasn't excellent, and you go into it knowing you've seen 100 football movies like this, so it has a lot to hold up to. |
