Atlantis Has Landed

The Space Shuttle Atlantis landed safely at Cape Canaveral Florida this morning at 6:21 a.m. EST. You could not miss it's arrival with the Sonic Boom. The Boom woke up our whole household. The dogs started barking, the cat jumped off the Patio table and my daughter, who had been sitting in the Florida Room came running in to ask what that sound was. She said it sounded like a house blew up. No it was only the Shuttle returning home. We live on the Mainland, but when Atlantis took off 10 days ago we could see it from out backyard It was so beautiful when it shot off. We are so proud of NASA! Great job!

that would be such a sight to be able to witness!
Always wanted to watch a liftoff, but timing didn't work out for us in 2002 when we were down in Florida for a month, then the Columbia accident happened in February 2003.

Glad they got back safely.
I can't imagine it, must have been quite exciting though to have all that going on, on your doorstep

Go space shuttle program!!!! I've always felt that they should be getting more money and attention. We're so fortunate to be able to have the capability to venture into space! Another successful mission :yay:
Did they ever decide what was floating around the shuttle? Boy, I would have been nervous coming back home!
